Photos of the Hallway

Here's the view down the hallway, towards the bathroom. I could have lighten up this photo, but I wanted the viewer to see how dark it really was in this hallway. The only light is to the left of the bathroom, near the storeroom. Needless to say, it wasn't much help at the other end of the hallway (by the library).

Here Dirk has removed the carpet and is getting ready to remove the nails that held it down. This was before the knee pads were bought, which helped a great deal. Still a crummy job and you're next to the cat pee smell on the floor. Real lovely, huh?
(The walls and ceiling have since been painted and everything looks so much better. With the white walls, you can see farther down the hallway, even with the light at the other end. Hubby will start putting the flooring in here and library next.)

Here's pretty much the same view as the previous photo, but with everything painted white. Some prints are on the wall. The boxes will be used for shipping out the last remainder of my business inventory, while Mandy is checking out what I'm doing.

This is at the beginning of the hallway, looking in from the middle of the library. Yet more prints on the wall and you can see where the cats' water and food bowls are located until Dirk's work area in the kitchen is gone. Guy is enjoying his water.
Update on the food placement: After the flooring was done, we moved the food and water bowls into the kitchen. Whenever I'd go to feed the cats, for the longest time they'd stop at this spot in the library and could not figure out why I wasn't stopping there as well. HA!

This photo turned out too yellow, as I forgot to use the flash on the camera and I'm too lazy to retake it. But it gives you an idea of the closet in the hallway, between the two bedrooms. It used to have wood doors, but I had Dirk yank them out as it was too much of a hassle to have them on there when I needed to go into the closet for kitty litter. The right side of the closet has the bricks from where a fireplace used to be years and years ago. You can see the rest of this fireplace in the attic.
