Photos of the Bedroom

This is how the room looked when we got there. At least it had lighter colored wall paneling, but it still took two coats of primer and two coats of white paint to cover it up. That's pretty much what all of the rooms required, with some rooms getting an extra coat of Kilz paint on top of the two coats of primer.

Some of our stuff didn't fit into the storage unit right away, so it was stashed in here until it got shifted around. This view is from the storeroom. The bathroom is in between these two rooms. Here you can see the icky doors on the closet in the hallway.

And here's the room all painted, complete with light wood laminate flooring and wall molding. As well as the new, white blinds. Looks so much better than before, doesn't it? YES!

Yep, pussy cats on the bed - where else! From front to back, we've got Boris, Jack and Mandy. Note the bedside table I've waited 8 years to have. Complete with alarm clock, lamp, white noise device and of course, the small stuffed zebra.

Here you're looking into the bedroom from the hallway by the bathroom. The white rug has two horses on it and says "Horse Country", which my dad gave me many years ago. The chair on it that you can barely see is one that was his parents and my grandmother did the weaving for the chair cushion. Behind that is the clothes rack, of which you can only see the base.

To the left is the dresser that was my mom's, with my brother's and my old dresser from when we were teens. And there still isn't enough room for everything, therefore the wire baskets are stacked everywhere they can fit.

These are the donkey/mule prints I mentioned in one of my emails. Very hard to see in this photo, sorry to say. The top one is of a black donkey jenny and her lighter colored foal - by Zela. Middle left and bottom prints are by a friend from the Portland area, Judith Northwood. One depicts a donkey with its head through the fence and the other shows the donkey with its head under the bottom rail of the fence. The final print is by Bonnie Shields, showing a mule snuggling with his/her draft horse friend. The print over the bed is by my cousin, Jeanne Rager and shows a field of dairy cattle. I love all of these prints and wanted to be able to see them last thing and first thing.
Update - one day everything on the clothes shelf and rack (above my mom's dresser) came tumbling down, right onto the floor and bed. Fortunately none of the cats were laying there, but they sure were freaked out as they were on the bed at the time. We zipped down to Ikea (my favorite store!) and bought some cabinets of varying size and options. Now all of my clothes are together in one place - something I haven't had for years and years. Photos will be uploaded later.
