Right now there's a ton of junk in the attic, which we've just barely started to tackle. These photos are taken when we went up there to take out the first load. It was the first time Dirk had even seen what all was up there. I think his back started aching, just looking at it all. We found more motorcycle parts up there, which I think go to the one that you can see in the Kitchen photos. The motorcycle was eventually hauled over to Spokane, where Mark now lives - he wasn't too happy to get it, but oh well, it's out of my hair now.
A fixed up attic would be a wonderful place to rubber stamp in, however it needs lots of work, plus it was quite warm up there on a slightly warm day. I'd hate to be up there during the summer. And the wiring in the house isn't good enough (until Dirk gets it redone) to put in air conditioners up there. And it'll be darn nippy up there in the winter, so I'll stick with the room I have downstairs.
No need to put captions under most of these photos, as they just show you junk, junk and more junk. Now to get it all downstairs and to the dump.

This is the stairs going down from the attic. The computer room is off to the right. Dirk's gloved hand is that weird, light shaped blob you can see in the middle/upper left corner.

This is the view from the window in the attic. If I had taken this during a really clear day (in Seattle? Yeah, they do happen from time to time.), you would be able to see Mt Rainier in the area above the basketball hoop in our neighbor's backyard.

Once we finally hauled away all of Mark's stuff out of the attic, we painted the walls and started wadding our stuff in there. This was after many trips to the dump and tons of stair climbing. No need to walk around the neighborhood for my exercise during those days, as my thighs got a good workout going up and down those narrow, steep stairs. As you can see, our stuff is boxed away and stacked far better than what Mark did with his stuff. So, we'll be able to utilize the attic far better than he did.

This is looking towards the window area where that ratty desk used to be. Basically the attic will be wadded full of stuff that we can't fit downstairs and will be able to handle the heat up there. Right now it's a really hot up there. Some of the things up there will go downstairs when Dirk is finished with the flooring, as the rest of my figurine collection (minus the plastic models, which I don't want up there) is up here, as well as our remaining books and computer room items. Our goal is to have the rented storage unit cleaned out by the end of August, which means the flooring has to be finished and the attic will be completely wadded full.
