Here's more photos of One Eyed Jack (the orange tabby)

Jack & Guy Sleeping Here's one of Jack and Guy taking a snooze on the cushy pillows and blanket.  Guy is sacked out, but Jack caught me in the act of taking the photo.
Jack on Cushion Back Here's Jack's other favorite snoozing spot - on top of the cushion back of the couch.  That way he can see if Boris is sneaking up on him (Boris loves to pick on Jack).  Although I don't know if he appreciated me using that flash on him.
Jack on Stairs Hey, he's not sleeping!  Jack is keeping a careful eye on the various cat toys laying around, just in case they make a break for it and try to hide from him.
Jack at the Scratching Box Jack is trying to use his scratching box (back when he had claws; he no longer does), but Rocky is investigating the situation.
Dirk and Jack snoozing away This is one of the few times that Jack has ever been a lap kitty.  One morning he decided to jump on top of my husband, while he was still laying in bed.  We were both shocked, as Jack will lay near you, but never gets on your lap.  Give him another few years and maybe he'll be a lap kitty.  We hope!
Two years later Jack is FINALLY a lap cat! But only with Dirk, as he won't get on my lap.  Maybe one day he will.  Yeah, he doesn't look very comfortable here, does he?

Update: Turns out he'll snuggle with me, but only if I lay on the couch and he's in the mood.  But since I don't lay on the couch (upsets my acid reflux), he's not my snuggly kitty.

Jack looks far more comfortable laying on Dirk's chest than he does above, doesn't he?.  Since he weighs 23 pounds, he's quite the lap cat!
For my birthday (Halloween) a friend gave me a gift basket that included some Halloween related items, such as these two huge rubber spiders.  They've now become chew toys for Jack.  He loves to chew on things.  One of his nicknames is Chewy.  I've never had a cat before that likes to chew on things like he does.  Fortunately he leaves electric cords alone. Whew!
Yes, these spiders are dead.  They're made of rubber, so no worries there that they'll scamper around the house freaking us all out.
Here's Jack and Dirk taking another snooze in the late morning.  Once again Jack is in his favorite spot - on top of Dirk.
Snoozing away on the day bed, one of Jack's favorite snooze spots.

Update (2/06):  Now that Boris is gone, I'm able to pull the food bowls during the day. Boris was hypoglycemic and needed to have food readily available, or else he would fight with the other cats, especially Jack. I was constantly taking one or the other (or both) of them into the vet for treatment for various cat bites, including abscesses.  Not cheap!  After 4 months Jack has lost 2 pounds, so we're slowly, but surely getting there, much to his dismay!  He's not a happy camper when he's hungry and the food bowls are gone.  Rocky and Mandy don't need to go on diets, so they have a bowl of dry food sitting on top of a two-drawer file cabinet.  Jack is too fat to jump up there, even though he knows it's up there.  The food bowl is put down in the kitchen twice a day, for 2-3 hours.  I doubt Jack will ever be the svelte, muscular 15# cat that he was when I first adopted him (see his photo at the main kitty page, where he's standing on a log), but I am determined to get his weight down even more.

Update (2/12/08):  Jack has finally lost quite a bit of weight!  It didn't help that he became hyperthyroid.  He's now on these really small pills twice a day.  He gets half a pill in the AM and the other half in the PM.  Fortunately he's pretty good about taking the pills, as I can't afford to give him the radiated treatment, nor do I want to, after the problems I had with Rocky on that treatment.  Anyway, he's lost weight and looks lots better.  He's also on a restricted food diet in terms of how much he gets each day.  He hates it, of course!  He's down to 16.5#, but much of it fat, compared to all the muscle he was when I first adopted him.
