On February 14, 2004 three cloned mules from the University of Idaho made an appearance at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, held at the Seattle Convention Center. Below are some of the photos I took of Idaho Gem, Utah Pioneer and Idaho Star. I could not tell you which one is which in these photos. Their halters did have their names on them, but none of that came through in the photos. Enjoy! I know I enjoyed seeing them in person.
Idaho Gem, born May 4, 2003
Utah Pioneer, born June 9, 2003
Idaho Star, born July 27, 2003

Growing foals need to eat! And eat they did.

All of them are a very dark brown, with mealy marks on their faces. There was a bit of a size difference, since each one was born about a month apart (all were born over a 3½ month period in 2003).

Hey, anything to eat in here?

There might be something to eat in here, as well!

Well, they are called Asses!

Hey, who you calling an Ass?

You got anything to eat?

Here you can see the slight size difference.

Yep, the food's over here!
