Shipping:
Will be via the Post Office via Priority
Mail for USA and airmail for foreign addresses.
You do not have to purchase insurance, but if you don't, I'm not liable for
damage by the PO or for lost packages. I overpack, but there's always the
chance of the box getting lost. If I can not use a free priority box for
your shipment, there will be an additional cost for the box I've purchased ($1.00
and up, depending upon
the size of the box). All items will
be carefully wrapped, to insure against breakage. I've been shipping
breakable figurines for over 14 years and have a very good track record of items
arriving safely to their new homes.
With the new dimensional weights from the PO, it might be cheaper to send via parcel, especially on larger items. I won't know the exact costs until a sold item is boxed up and all that. I can also ship via UPS, if need be and especially for larger boxes.
Signature confirmation is required, especially when paying with Paypal as many times they won't accept regular delivery confirmation if there is a dispute later on. Of course there's an additional fee for that.
I will ship overseas. Please note that shipping overseas via airmail can get quite expensive. Some items can go at the much lower rate for airmail (Small Parcel/Letter), but the box has to weigh less than 4 pounds and has to be less 24" in length, with a maximum total of 36" for the box (height + length + depth). These boxes can't be insured. If the box is too heavy or too large for the Letter rate, or if you want it insured, it will cost considerably more. Once I box it up, I can give you the shipping costs. NOTE: I have not shipped to a foreign country since the PO started using dimensional weights for packages, so I don't have a clue as to what costs will be or if a larger box can even be shipped. Again, it would be determined once a potential customer inquired about a certain item(s).
I use lots of padding and packing material (mostly crumpled newspapers), to insure the safety of the figurines, which means the box could be larger than you expect and it will cost more to ship. Postage is not cheap these days, which means that if you don't do a lot of shipping, you may freak over the quoted costs.
I *always* use new boxes that have never been used for shipping before. This helps insure that your item(s) will arrive safely, as new boxes have lots more strength than boxes that have been previously used for shipping. I no longer buy boxes in bulk, since I'm not doing enough shipping to justify getting that many boxes (minimum 100 to get the best rate). So, I'll be charging you pretty much what the store charges me for the boxes. And yes, a small box for first class items *does* cost me $1.00! Larger boxes are $3.00 to $15.00 per box.
I really prefer not to use first class, unless it's a really small item. And if this is an option, remember you'll also be paying for the box cost, as well as the delivery confirmation (which is free with priority as I print out a label from the PO's web site) - so the cost many times will be almost the same as priority. And I can't use too small of a box since the delivery confirmation slip has to fit on top of the box, along with the addresses and postage. (Yeah, I know, all these postal regulations!)
Payment Terms:
PayPal is accepted, however, it MUST be to a confirmed address. I will NOT ship to unconfirmed address, such as your work address or wherever. If you do not have a confirmed address with paypal, you MUST use the accepted methods listed in the next paragraph. This is for my safety and piece of mind. Please do not harass me about this policy or call me nasty names (as one fellow did - he's no longer a registered user on ebay, due to breaking their user terms!). Thanks!
I do accept personal checks, as well as money orders. Postal money orders will have your item(s) shipped within a week of receipt. Non-postal money orders (regardless of who issued it, as I can't cash it right away like I can with a postal money order), cashier's checks and personal checks will delay shipping for 4 weeks from the time I deposit the monies (which could be at least a week after I receive it).
Payment is expected within one week of you agreeing to the purchase. Time payments only allowed in a few situations and they have to be approved by me ahead of time.
