For some time now I've been selling some of my stamping projects at my vet's clinic, Renton Veterinary Clinic in Renton, Washington.  The sales from these items goes into their Angel Fund, which is used to help the less fortunate critters that come through their clinic.  They have a box at the front counter filled with various stamped cards, clocks and tiles.

The latest Angel Fund beneficiaries are two brown tabby kittens that desperately needed corrective eye surgery, which they recently received from a specialist.  The bill came to over $1500.00, of which approximately $150.00 has been collected from their Angel Fund box at the clinic.

Here's what a staff member, Caryn, told me about the kittens in an email:

"Here are a few pictures of the little sweeties.  The smaller kitten is much worse than her bigger sibling, and she is very shy since she can't see well, but trusts her sister to lead her around.  These kittens were strays who were brought to us with their semi-feral mom (who was released into a barn home after being spayed, doing great at last report!).  They were already about 6 weeks old but their eyes were still crusted shut with infection.  (Healthy kitten eyes are usually open at 2 weeks.)  Because of being crusted closed, their eyelids and inner membranes did not develop properly.  The surgery will hopefully rebuild and repair the lids and membranes to function as they should.

"Though originally quite wild, they are now very sweet, the larger, better seeing one especially so.  The smaller one gets frightened by loud noises and large objects looming over her until she realizes it's a friend and not foe.  Then she has such a loud purr!

"They will eventually be put up for adoption and hopefully will find a forever loving home."

A while ago I decided to direct sales from my web site of my stamped projects to their Angel Fund.  After seeing photos of these kittens I'm even more determined to help them out.  Please click on the following links and see if there is anything you would like to purchase for yourself or as a gift to an animal lover in your life.

Many thanks from myself, the Renton Veterinary Clinic staff and especially the beneficiaries of the Angel Fund!

Note from Laura:  We got a new monitor that I'm still getting used to, especially with the changes in color from our old monitor.  So, I can not guarantee that the color you're seeing on your monitor is a true representation of the kittens, as well as the stamped projects.  Sorry!
